MOTOMI or Motion to MIDI, is a technology that translates movements into Sounds.
MOTOMI works on the principal of dividing the video frame into grids. Each grid is responsible for sending its own message.
In MOTOMI, the x - axis of the frame represents pitch or frequency and the y - axis represents amplitude or velocity.
Motomi is a performative sound - art synthesis of space and technology. Motomi encompasses both, presence and representation, materiality and immateriality in which we intertwine different levels of presence, temporality, space and experience. It is a complete evocative spacial experience which allows us to interact with the three-dimensional space and to the surrounding space in unique ways. Motomi as technology transforms the space within which it is being used by shaping and transforming the context of the site itself, thereby creating the potential for an original and individual context.
